AUGMENTED REALITY
The app works in conjunction with the physical products that feature The Virtuals™ heroes, namely The Virtuals™ T-shirts, Wall Decals and Cards (available at TheVirtuals.com/Store). When you activate the app and look at one of the physical products, a magical portal is superimposed in the scene with AR technology, and the heroes teleport from another world, in live 3D, to team up with kids!

THE FIRST HEROES
The first heroes to be featured include Koko the Kind, Boomi the Brave and Ozi the Honest. Based on feedback from kids and parents, more heroes will join them, highlighting other character strengths such as Patience, Perseverance, Flexibility and so on.

A LIVING APP
We aim to continuously update the game through ongoing feedback from users, including both kids and parents. The Virtuals™ was born out of a crowd-funding project, which counted on crowd feedback and insight to shape the first release of the game. This spirit of collaboration with the user community will continue for evermore as we regularly release updated and more advanced versions of the game. With each subsequent version youll witness a wonderful evolution inspired by parents, kids and educational research.

The Virtuals™ app is founded on leading childrens developmental and behavioural research as directed by our in-house authority on children’s development, Dr. Victoria Talwar Ph.D (Canada Research Chair and Associate Professor at McGill University).

Dr. Talwar brings an amazing amount of expertise to the team, allowing us to strengthen the effectiveness of our products with educational and developmental best practices founded in world leading research. Dr. Talwars specific areas of expertise for over 15 years are in social-cognitive learning, moral development and pro-social behaviour in children.

FOR PARENTS
In addition to entertaining and educating kids as a stand-alone game, The Virtuals™ also serves as a great tool to inspire meaningful discussions between parent and child. The Voice Bubble button within the app triggers a variety of statements and questions as spoken by the given superhero. Parents are encouraged to elaborate on these questions and statements with their child, which will reinforce reflection and cognitive processing of the educational elements.
